Burning Ice is a new feature length film produced by Cape Farewell in partnership with Cactus 3 in New York, and commissioned by Sundance Television. Directed by Chicago-based filmmaker Peter Gilbert (Hoop Dreams and At the Death House Door), Burning Ice documents the Cape Farewell expedition to Disko Bay in 2008. The expedition included forty five artists and scientists who created individual and collective responses to climate change in the High Arctic. The film explores how the music and art can inspire new and original thinking and involvement in addressing climate change and help shape a new cultural future.
